Richard Ireland was elected to the West Tamar Council in October 2014 and re-elected in 2018. A long-standing resident of the West Tamar and former business owner, he brings a rich perspective and skill set to strategic planning and development.

With a background in engineering, Richard is an active contributor in Council debate and decision making on infrastructure and recycling, traffic management, and agri-business and the development of Legana's community and tourism precinct. 

He is an active contributor on issues such as Audit and Finance, Governance, budget management, seniors advisory services, suicide awareness and is active within many groups in the community. He has a strong commitment to the advancement of business and community initiatives and a determination to see the West Tamar flourish.
